I think we need to go beyond to what society wants from us. Learning is changing our minds and helping us grow. If you get new information test it and learn from it (incorporate it). A FOOLISH CONSISTENCY IS THE HOBGOBLIN OF LITTLE MINDS... a little mind is terrified of new information while a big mind isn’t afraid (not a coward). TO BE GREAT IS TO BE UNDERSTOOD.... to have a new unique idea doesn’t require an explanation. Huge difference between being taught and learning. Our idea is to be understood and to articulate it is even better. We can decide to do something different but our genuine character is always there. Ephemeris<< use a polite word instead of something you really feel. The people that we honor and respect they earned it because of their characteristics instead of them persuading us. NOTHING IS AT LAST SACRED BUT THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR OWN MIND.....integrity is what you believe and what you do not honesty. This whole essay doesn’t work if you believe your bad from the start only work if you believe your good. Honesty without compassion is mean , but the truth is still the truth. Vanity ~ desire to look good .... Hard to estimate good without having to compare to it. We need to start being good instead of having vanity and looking good. Some people thinks their good deeds is paying of for all of their bad deeds. For example being a jerk to someone and then going to church. If your a good person you need to know not try to prove it to anyone else. FOR NONCONFORMITY THE WORLD WHIPS YOU WITH ITS DISPLEASURE. Intelligent and nice people will get mad and then forget about it but when working people, brutes & children get mad we need to forgive out how to do a conversation rather than yelling.

People don’t know what their capable of until they try with their own effort. We always decide what we to put our efforts in and our attention to , it is our choice. Relaxation does not relax us in the way that we think is does in the end of the day. For example if we think we are taking an hour of just relaxation watching Netflix from all the work we have, we take time from that moment to do something that we think benefits us when you end up not doing your work and you regret it. The difference between a little kid and is they don’t care how they look like or even judged. When people grow up they become more independent. We are aware to how we are seen , we fear judgement. Being honest without being compassionate is cruel. You need to think before what you say or your just being an asshole. Being independent is a good quality because you don’t have to depend on anyone else and just yourself. Society says to be your best self but how society acts you can’t be able to do due to other j

My first impression on the essay was that we should not do what society expects us to do and accomplish. After reading that I got some understanding that people are afraid to go outside the box and speak their mind. For example, when teachers ask us if we have any questions, comments, or concerns more than half the time no one asks any questions when deep down we know we have something to say. Is it because no one is asking anything? Is it because we are afraid? Is it because we  are too afraid to get judged by our classmates? When I found out the first sentence was written in Latin I was curious and never seen that on an essay , I feel like it was there for us to find a meaning behind that to keep on reading the whole essay. All these words from the essay I never heard of till Dr. Preston analyzed mostly every sentence or two for us to understand which was so helpful and learned new words and meanings as we read along together.
